Stress Management
Employee absence cost the UK nearly £17bn in 2009 according to the CBI's Absence and Workplace Health Survey 2010, with work related stress accounting for 36% of long term absences amongst non-manual workers and 23% of long term absences amongst manual workers.

According to the Health and Safety Executive, stress is likely to become the most dangerous risk to business in the early part of the 21st century. So, what measures can you take to identify the level and resolve the effects stress is having on your organisation?

Stress and Wellbeing e-Learning
FirstAssist's 'Beating Stress' e-learning course can provide a proactive stress management solution, enabling your employees and managers to recognise, respond and resolve everyday stress before it leads to absence.

Cost Effective, Interactive Modules

‘Beating Stress’ is designed to be a cost effective method of delivering stress training to employees.

Each module is interactive and provides the employee with questions to test learning. It includes assessments to determine how stressed individuals are within themselves and the workplace, as well as a variety of ways to overcome and prevent stress within your organisation. Employees are provided with a certificate upon completion and managers can also use the system to view the progress of their employees.

As the course is electronically delivered, it can be delivered to employees via the internet, your intranet or CD ROM, making it a cost effective, environmentally friendly, informative and fun learning experience.

Benefits for Employers

Stress affects business performance through increased short and long term absence, reduced productivity, poor timekeeping, poor concentration and quality of work and poor interpersonal relations.

For employers, preventing and treating work related stress has many benefits; not only can it reduce employee absenteeism, it can help those still working to manage their days in a stress free way.

Through increased awareness of stress, employers can demonstrate a commitment to employee wellbeing, as well as achieve an indication of stress levels within the business and early warnings for areas of concern (stress hot spots).
